Species Info:
AGE: Age seems to not be a concept that exists for glimwyrms. They are created, and only die if they are starved of their food sources or sacrifice themselves for the creation of a pup.
HABITAT: Anywhere and everywhere! If they eat something like lava they may prefer volcano's, but they just need steady food to go anywhere.
DIET: It varies from each individual, but each glimwyrm is born from the substance that they will feed on for the rest of their days. Some may feed on cheese, others on rust, some even on the dust from dying stars!
BREEDING: While they can't spawn in the traditional sense, they can give up some of their life essence to combine together into new glimwyrms. This is highly unusual as it can result in the death of the parents. 
THREATS: While they have no natural predators, poachers track them for sale as pets or on the black market as a sort of condensed magic source.
LIFESTYLE: They sometimes become familiars to any sentient creature they find interesting. Their loyalty is somewhat fleeting, but they provide a great boost to magic users. They can communicate with squeaks or through the feelings they project to their 'masters'. There's no true language of the glimwyrms.
SIZE: They range from 1-2 feet on average, but can rarely grow larger.
RARE TRAITS: Almost every glimwyrm has 4 legs, and a long serpentine body. There is no evidence that they can't form into something else, but they choose not to do so. The leading theory is that because the first discovered glimwyrm was bound to a Lynd (4 legged serpents) and that influenced the entire species. They can have any number or arrangement of eyes, or none at all! Typically they have large ears, which are invariably tipped with a light producing bauble, mirrored on their tails. Their bodies are normally covered in a light peach-fuzz but they can have fluffy patches or even be covered in long fur! Often they produce light along their stomach and other markings, from which they gained their name.
